The recent trial of The Pirate Bay has had some interesting twists since its conclusion. First, there was the discovery of the judge being a member of Pro-Copyright organizations. It looks like there is now another intriguing event that has happened…
The music artists that RIAA used in their case are fighting back!
In the case against The Pirate Bay, and other file sharing cases in general, torrentfreak has reported the RIAA claims that all forms of Copyright Infringement cause artists, such as the hip-hop group Advance Patrol, to lose millions of dollars. Advance Patrol was brought up specifically in The Pirate Bay case. However, there was one small problem. The RIAA never asked these musical groups (Advance Patrol) for their permission to use them in their case. Now, the groups, starting with Advance Patrol are fighting back.
Gonza from Advance Patrol has said “We never asked to be plaintiffs in this case,”. “They used us as scapegoats in a fight in which we don’t wish to participate. We refuse to be used in a war against our fans.”
Advance Patrol has since decided to release their next album for free, on…. yes you guessed it…. The Pirate Bay.
The members of The Pirate Bay have said, “In the case against us the music industry used many artists without asking them first. The cooperation between us and Advance Patrol shows that not all of those who were plaintiffs wanted to be a part of the Spectrial circus.”
If you’re looking to download the torrent or donate for the album, it is available from Advance Patrol’s website here.
