Well, as you know, the 3.1 firmware for Apple’s iPhone has been released, and as you should also know, the iPhone Dev Team has yet to disappoint!
This current jailbreak is only for iPhone 3g, 2g and first gen ipod touch users.
They have just released the method for jailbreaking the new 3.1 firmware!

Is there a way to jailbreak the 3.1 firmware for a 3g in Windows? I have tried for the last two days, to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, not the 3.1 firmware. That can only currently be jailbroken in mac. Soon, it will be released in windows.
However, if you are able to get a copy of a hacked 3.1 firmware someone made from a mac, you can restore your iphone to that within windows, you just can’t actually create the hacked firmware.
